Execute rule sets

The Execute rule set report is a part of the rules feature in Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software. Using this report, you can select and execute rule sets to decide reasonable changes in the user master data,
Description
To execute a rule set, you select an activated rule set and select criteria to specify the compared data.
When you execute a rule set, an aggregation scheme is applied to the data first. Then, local rules are executed, and the license type hierarchy is applied to the data. Finally, global rules are executed. You can record the recommended changes in a change list.
Selection criteria
In addition to the standard selections, the selection screen of the report has the following selections:

Rule set options
You have to enter a rule set.

Condition values options
You can enter the conditions values of the conditions in local rules that require an entry in the selection screen.
note-
The condition value fields are only shown if the rule set has local rules that have conditions that require an entry in the selection screen.

If you select the Absolute specification option for the monthly period in the report selection screen, then the possibly selected period in the condition values of the local rules have priority.

Result of rule set execution options
You can enter a description for the result of the rule set execution.
noteIf you do not enter a description, Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software creates a timestamp as the result description.

Processing options
By selecting the Record in change list checkbox, you can save the recommended changes in a change list.
You can select an existing change list or create a new change list by selecting the Generate automatically checkbox.
By selecting the Process after creation checkbox, the modifications in the change list are processed to the connected systems.
noteThe purpose of the Process after creation function is to execute changes in batch mode at regular intervals after an automatic rule set execution. When the function is selected, the change list has only entries with the values that result in changes.
cautionWhen you process change lists automatically, the changes take effect immediately and cannot be undone.
You can execute this report in the background.
Result
You can save and show the results of the rule set execution or show the historical trend of licenses per license type. If you have executed the report in the background, the results are saved automatically.
