Notifications are among the cross-functional objects and part of the Warning functions feature in Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software.
You can find the notification feature in two places in the Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software menu: once in the Cross-functional objects folder and once in the Warning functions folder.
Description
Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software can automatically send notifications in case of specific events. These events are mainly related to the execution of reports in batch mode. Other events can be, for example, when threshold values of warning functions exceed or when you import change list entries from a Supermaster system to a Submaster system.
Notifications in Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software consist of receiver lists and notification texts.
Receiver lists
Receiver lists define the receivers of notifications. They contain the email and SAP mail addresses that receive notifications. You need to create and select receiver lists before the SAP system can send notifications.
To send notifications via email, your system administrator must configure the SAP system for sending emails (transaction SCOT), and the user master data of the receivers must have valid email addresses.
Notification texts
Notification texts are optional text templates for notifications. The description of a notification text replaces the automatically generated subject of a notification in batch mode. The notification text is the body text of the notification. You can create and select notification texts before the SAP system sends notifications.
Parameters
Notification texts may contain parameters that are replaced with the content of a system field in the sent notification. You can use all fields of the user master data as parameters in the format $<USER TECHNICAL FIELDNAME>, for example, $USER_ID or $COMPANY_NAME. In addition, these parameters are implemented:
Parameter | System field |
---|---|
$CLIENT | Client (ABAP data sources only) |
$DISPLAY_ID | Data source |
$SID | System ID (ABAP data sources only) |
To find the technical name of a user field for parameters, select a field in a user report result and press F1. In the dialog, select . The Field name field shows the technical field name.
