Data source administration
Access through: Administration > Data source administration
The Data source administration feature allows you to manage the system connections in Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software.
In preparation to load system data of connected satellite systems into the master system, you create data source connections. You can connect the following types of systems:
-
ABAP
-
JAVA-UME
-
HANA (S4/HANA database)
-
BusinessObjects
-
S/4HANA Cloud (including S4/HANA on-premises systems)
-
External
For a better overview, you can organize the system connections in a tree structure with folders. In the basic settings of each system connection, you can select whether to load data from the data source into Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software and whether to include data from this data source in reports.
Icons show the connection status of data sources. You can check if a connection to a data source is working and if a data source is currently available. If the check is successful, the connection status changes accordingly. Otherwise, the connection status does not change.
On a Supermaster system, you can connect Submaster systems via Master Synchronization Points. Reporting groups allow you to combine any number of systems into individually definable groups. You can also reload system data and assign Reporting groups.
-
Once the data of an ABAP system has been loaded successfully, the name of the ABAP data source changes from the pattern TMP_<X> to SYSID/Client/Installation number.
-
Once the data of another system type has been loaded successfully, the name of the data source changes from the pattern TMP_<X> to the pattern SYSID/Installation number.

Check the used RFC connection by executing the transaction SM59. Note: Troubleshooting for HANA data sources The user in the database connection is not maintained or the password is incorrect or missing. Check the used database connection by executing the transaction DBACOCKPIT or the report ADBC_TEST_CONNECTION. | |

Check the used RFC connection by executing the transaction SM59 and the status of the satellite system. Note: Troubleshooting for HANA data sources The database connection does not exist. |
Reporting groups
Reporting groups make it easier to select multiple data sources when there are many data sources. Reporting groups allow you to combine any number of systems into individually definable groups. You can assign several reporting groups to one data source. In selection screens, you can select reporting groups instead or in combination with data sources.
