Manage global rules
Access through: Rules > Definitions > Global rules
In preparation for defining rule sets, you can create global rules in Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software.
Create global rule

Select a rule type:

Absolute license type distribution

Relative license type distribution
-
Dissolve combination
noteThe absolute or relative license type distribution is included in the SAP contract. The license type distribution can be defined as an absolute specification by a specified amount or a relative specification by a specified percentage.

Enter a name and description for the new global rule.

Depending on the selected rule type, do one of the following:

If you selected Absolute license type distribution, enter the license type ID and the value for the upper threshold.
Enter the license type number to which license types are distributed when they reach the upper threshold.

If you selected Relative license type distribution, enter the license type ID and maximum percentage.
Enter the license type number to which license types are distributed when they reach maximum percentage.

If you selected Dissolve combination, enter a license type combination.
Enter the license type number to which a license type combination is dissolved.

To save and activate the global rule, select .

To switch to display mode, select .
To show the new global rule listed, select .
After creating a global rule, you can add the global rule to a rule set.
Change global rule

Select the row of a global rule.

To switch to change mode, select .

Make changes.

To save changes and activate the global rule, select .
Copy global rule

Change the name and description.

If necessary, make other changes.
