Manage single usage profiles

Access through: Cross-functional objects > Usage profiles > Single usage profiles

You can create single usage profiles in Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software to define the objects that are included and excluded from a usage profile.

note

Single usage profiles that are part of the License Intelligence templates are password-protected. You cannot show, change, or copy protected single usage profiles without entering the password. The password is for Snow Software use only. To change the objects of a protected single usage profile, you can modify the template.

Create single usage profile

  1. Select New.png.

  2. Enter the name and description for the new single usage profile.

  3. To add entries for included and excluded objects, do the following:

    1. In the included or excluded objects list, select Add.png.

    2. In Add entries, select the entry type.

    3. Do the following:

      • To add a single entry, enter the object and description and select Accept.png.

        tip

        To propose a description for entries of the type transactions or reports, select Propose_description.png.

      • To add 20 rows of the same entry type, select the entry type and select Add_rows.png.

      • To import objects from a text file, select the entry type and select Import_from_textfile.png.

    4. Repeat steps i. to iii. until you added all required entries.

  4. Save.

Change single usage profile

  1. Select the row of a single usage profile.

  2. To show the detailed view, select Details.png.

  3. To switch to change mode, select Switch to change mode.png.

  4. To make changes, do the following:

    • Change the name or description of the single usage profile.

    • Change the object or description of existing entries.

    • To add an entry, select Add.png.

    • To delete an entry, select a row and select Delete1.png.

    • To propose a description for entries of the type transactions or reports, select a row and select Propose_description.png.

  5. Save.

Copy single usage profile

  1. Select the row of a single usage profile.

  2. Select Copy1.png.

  3. Change the name and description of the single usage profile.

  4. Make other required changes:

    • Change the object or description of existing entries.

    • To add an entry, select Add.png.

    • To delete an entry, select a row and select Delete1.png.

    • To propose a description for entries of the type transactions or reports, select a row and select Propose_description.png.

  5. Save.

Modify single usage profile

  • The modification feature is available for the single usage profile Templates delivered with Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software, including the License Intelligence templates. It allows you to modify these templates locally without creating a copy. You can add or remove the objects that are included or excluded in a template.

  • Modified templates are retained and may be upgraded when updating Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software.

In the detailed view of a modified single usage profile, you can show the modified and original versions of the profile by selecting Show with modifications or Show original.

  1. In the Modification column of the protected single usage profile template, select modification.png.

    tip

    If a template has already been modified, the modification_existing.png icon is shown in the Modification column. You can select this icon to change the modification if necessary.

  2. To switch to change mode, select Switch to change mode.png.

  3. Enter a modification annotation if necessary.

  4. To add entries for added or removed included/excluded objects, do the following:

    1. In the respective object list, select Add.png.

    2. In Add entries, select the entry type.

    3. Do the following:

      • To add a single entry, enter the object and description and select Accept.png.

        tip

        To propose a description for entries of the type transactions or reports, select Propose_description.png.

      • To import objects from a text file, select the entry type and select Import_from_textfile.png.

    4. Repeat steps i. to iii. until you added all required entries.

  5. Save.
