Manage cost carrier hierarchies

Access through: Cost allocation > Cost carrier hierarchies

In preparation for defining cost allocation schemas and executing cost allocations, you can create cost carrier hierarchies in Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software.

Create cost carrier hierarchy

  1. Select New.png.

  2. Enter the name and description for the new cost carrier hierarchy.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • To create the very first cost carrier:

    1. Right-click in the empty area.

    2. Select the cost carrier type.

    3. Enter the cost carrier ID and description.

    4. If you selected a collective cost carrier, select the cost distribution type for the subordinated cost carriers.

    5. Select Accept.png.

    • To create more cost carriers:

    1. Right-click on an existing cost carrier entry.

    2. Select Create, the cost carrier type, and the place to insert the cost carrier.

    3. Enter the cost carrier ID and description.

    4. If you selected a collective cost carrier, select the cost distribution type for the subordinated cost carriers.

    5. Select Accept.png.

    6. Repeat steps a. to e. until you added all required entries.

  4. Save.

After creating a cost carrier hierarchy, you can select the cost carrier hierarchy in a cost allocation schema.

Change cost carrier hierarchy

  1. Select the row of a cost carrier hierarchy.

  2. To show the detailed view, select Details.png.

  3. To switch to change mode, select Switch to change mode.png.

  4. To make changes, do the following:

    • Change the name or description of the cost carrier hierarchy.

    • To change an entry, right-click on a cost carrier and select Change.

    • To add an entry, right-click on a cost carrier and select Create, the cost carrier type, and the place to insert the cost carrier.

    • To copy an entry, right-click on a cost carrier and select Copy.

    • To cut an entry, right-click on a cost carrier and select Cut.

    • To paste an entry, right-click on a cost carrier and select Paste and the place to insert the cost carrier.

    • To delete an entry, right-click on a cost carrier and select Delete.

  5. Save.

Copy cost carrier hierarchy

  1. Select the row of a cost carrier hierarchy.

  2. Select Copy1.png.

  3. Change the name and description of the cost carrier hierarchy.

  4. Make other required changes:

    • To change an entry, right-click on a cost carrier and select Change.

    • To add an entry, right-click on a cost carrier and select Create, the cost carrier type, and the place to insert the cost carrier.

    • To copy an entry, right-click on a cost carrier and select Copy.

    • To cut an entry, right-click on a cost carrier and select Cut.

    • To paste an entry, right-click on a cost carrier and select Paste and the place to insert the cost carrier.

    • To delete an entry, right-click on a cost carrier and select Delete.

  5. Save.
