Manage products

Access through: Contract management > Products > Products

In preparation for defining contracts in the contract management of Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software, you can create, change, and copy products.

As a starting point, you find various predefined templates for the most common SAP products in Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software.

Create product​

  1. Select New.png.

  2. Enter the name and description of the new product.

  3. In the General tab, enter the product information:

    1. Enter the material number.

    2. Enter the metric and block size.

    3. If the product is relevant for SAP Application Value (SAV) database fees, activate the checkbox for information purposes.

    4. If the product is relevant for HANA SAP Application Value (HSAV) database fees, activate the checkbox for information purposes.

    5. If the product is relevant for maintenance fees, activate the checkbox.

      note

      The maintenance amount of a license contract is calculated based on the maintenance base that you selected in the base data of the license contract.

    6. Enter list prices.

    7. Select the product type.

    8. Enter the availability of the price list.

    9. If the product is of the type Engine, enter the metric ID.

    10. Enter note.

  4. In the Inventory detection tab, select the type of inventory determination:

    • If you select Flat fee, the product is licensed for unlimited use through a one-time payment at a fixed price.

      If required, enter the usage indicators based on the USMM unit IDs and the threshold for each indicator in the format [Unit ID](I([Threshold])), for example, 0815(I(10)).

    • If you select Self declaration, you must maintain the inventory of the product in Self-declarations.

      If required, enter the usage indicators based on the USMM unit IDs and the threshold for each indicator in the format [Unit ID](I([Threshold])), for example, 0815(I(10)).

    • If you select Based on USMM measuring results of unit ID, enter the unit ID and unit description of the USMM measuring results.

      note

      The Compliance analysis distributes the USMM measurement results of a unit ID to all SAP products whose inventory is determined based on this unit ID, starting with the lowest material number. This is required for products with tiered prices that have a different material number for each price level.

    • If you select Formula based on the USMM measurement results, enter the formula for inventory calculation of engines with multiple units based on the USMM measurement results.

      note

    • If you select License type, enter the license type.

    • If you select % maintenance fee, enter the percentage.

    • If you select Product-specific inventory calculation, enter the class that implements the method COUNT in the interface /DYNAM/IF_COUNTER.

  5. Save.

Change product​

  1. Select the row of the product.

  2. Select Details.png.

  3. Select Switch to change mode.png.

  4. Make the required changes in the General tab and Inventory detection tab.

  5. Save.

Copy product​

  1. Select the row of the product.

  2. Select Copy1.png.

  3. Make the required changes in General tab and Inventory detection tab.

    note

    The product names in Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software are unique. To save a new entry, you have to change the name of the product.

  4. Save.
