Connecting S/4HANA Public Cloud systems

The following steps are using the Communication Management in the S/4HANA Public Cloud system:

  1. Create a Communication User in Maintain Communication Users

  2. Create a Communication System in Communication Systems. This will be the Snow Optimizer Master system. Use the Communication User created in step 1 as user for inbound communication, the authentication method is User ID and Password. Select the inbound only flag.

  3. Create a Communication Arrangement. The integration scenario is SAP_COM_0066. The Communication System is the one created in step 2, the Communication User is the one created in step 1.

To establish a secure connection between the SOS master system and the S/4 Public Cloud system, an SSL certificate is needed. The certificate can be exported from your web browser while you are on the S/4HANA web page. The exact way to do this depends on the browser used. After saving the certificate file on your local computer, import it on the SOS master system, using transaction STRUST.

The next step is to create an RFC destination in transaction SM59 on the SOS master system:

  • Destination type is G

  • Target: your SAP cloud tenant (myXXXXX-api.s4hana.ondemand.com)

  • Service number: 443

  • Basic Authentication

  • SSL = Active

  • SSL Client Certificate = DEFAULT SSL Client (Standard) (this needs to be configured in transaction STRUST if not already done so)

  • User and Password from step 1

Now you should be able to create the S/4HANA Public Cloud system in the Snow Optimizer Data Source Administration, using the RFC destination maintained above.
